Healthy London Living is having a redesign. We will be back soon!
|
The Tree-Athlon is back for it's fourth year at London's Battersea Park! This unique event is run by Trees for Cities, an independent environmental charity working to brighten up needy urban areas with more trees and fresh landscapes. The Tree-Athlon is a three-part event to raise money for urban tree planting. More than just a 5km run, participants can tell the world their urban tree wish, and are also given a tree seed to take home and plant. Thanks to funds raised from last year’s event Trees for Cities has been able to plant thousands of trees across our community projects in needy urban areas from London to Leeds, Manchester to Reading and beyond to Peru, Addis Ababa and Nairobi. Registration opens on 8th April at www.tree-athlon.org. The race is open to everyone aged 14 and over and to runners of any ability. There will be fab prizes on the day for the fastest runners and top fundraiser. It will be a fun day out for all the family with entertainment and tree-themed activities for everyone to take part in. Please contact Nina De Groote for more details at tree-athlon@treesforcities.org or call 0207 820 4413 |
